SriLankan Navy apprehends 13 Indian fishermen for poaching in Sri Lankan waters




  • Dec 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy has arrested at least Indian fishermen near Gulf of Mannar on Sunday for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters.

    Indian media reports said the arrested fishermen have been taken to Mannar naval camp and their interrogation is underway.

    Earlier on December 12, SriLanka Navy arrested 27 Indian fishermen and seized five trawlers when they were fishing in the seas off Delft Island of Jaffna.
